Payroll module?!

Hello guys

I read that the payroll module is not implemented in NAV 2013 R2.

Is there a possibility to implement it?

Because this is very very bad. We need this.

The update from NAV 5.0 to 2013 R2 can not be done without this.

Best regards

Raphi

It may look like a silly one but would be useful to know how to clear/edit the server list (Dyn NAV 2013R2).

NAV 2009 R2 - COGS g/l account with Gen. Prod./Gen. Bus. Posting Group

Hello,

I was wondering if someone might be able to help me.

I am looking into how we could have a single sales revenue g/l account and a single COGS g/l account and then use the Gen. Prod. Posting Group and the Gen. Bus. Posting Group to filter and generate reports to analyse sales and COGS for various products and customer types.

With regards to the revenue side of things, this seems fairly straightforward. These two codes are associated with each entry posted to the g/l, meaning that this could be filtered easily.

However, for COGS, there doesn't seem to be any association between the GBPG/GPPG and the entries on the g/l account, these two columns are simply blank.

I would have assumed that since the GBPG and the GPPG are both mapped to specific g/l codes for sales and COGS, that these codes would appear on the COGS entry as well as the sales entry when the sales invoice is posted.

Please can anyone let me know how we could filter by these two codes for COGS, allowing us to have a single g/l?

Thanks in advance, any help would be hugely appreciated.

Web service and NAS service fail, but service tier is OK

Hi everyone,

We're on NAV2009SP2. I was adding a second service tier connected to the same database for use with "Easy Security". Our current service tier is set for port sharing. I used the tegos Service Tier Administration tool to create the new tier.

I could not connect to the new service tier using RTC. I received the same application log errors as mentioned below. However, my real problem is now the ORIGINAL web service tier and NAS will not connect. There are several application log entries. Some of them are long - I apologize for the length - but here they are. In addition, I also did see a log entry that said "The call to member Open failed. Microsoft OLE DB Provider for SQL Server returned the following message: Invalid connection string attribute".

The services run under a domain user which did not change. I DID create a new domain user for the second service tier, but it is not used in the connection settings for the existing service tiers.

Anyone have any ideas?

The total item tracking quantity [x] exceeds the line quantity [y]

Hi,

NAV2013R2

when calculating the bin content from an item reclassification journal, I get a message 'The total item tracking quantity [x] exceeds the line quantity [y]. The changes cannot be saved to the database'.

I already discovered that this happens for lot tracked items being on an inventory Pick.

e.i. I do have an inventory of 962 pieces on bin 1.1.5. 5 pieces of them are on an inventory pick.

When I want to calculate the bin content of that bin, I get the message 'The total item tracking quantity [962] exceeds the line quantity [957].

Seems to mee that the calculation is filling the line quantity with 957 (being the inventory minus the qty on the pick), while the tracking quantity is filled with 962 (being the bin content).

If there are also other products on that bin, the stock is not calculated for those items also. When I calculate the bin content for the complete location, I end up with a partial calculation.

I have been searching the knowledge base, because I think this is an error, but I can't find anything.

I can imaging that  you can not move items with the reclassification journal if they are already on a pick, but it should be possible to calculate the bin content.

kr,

Francis

NAV2013 R2 NA - why does Assembly order receipt post standard resource costs to the DCA account listed

$

In the General Posting table? This is from the Assemble order receipt into inventory. I would expect it to use the Capacity Variance account from the Inventory Posting table? Apparently the production order uses that field. The DCA is supposed to be used as a purchasing offset. You cannot purchase a resource so why would it be posting to an account listed in that category. Is this a Microsoft Bug?

Dear Sir,

What are the Basic Objcet Level Permission (Range 50000- 99999) in a default End User License of NAV 2009 R2 ?

AFAIK at the time of purchasing NAVISION License (NAV 2009 R2) MS gives the minimum level of permission for the following Custom Area Objects.

  1. Tables............: 10
  2. Forms.............: 100
  3. Reports...........: 100
  4. Dataports.........: 100
  5. Codeunits.........: 100
  6. XMLPorts..........: 100

While working with a client I have astonished to see that in the customer License there is no xmlport execution permission and even only 15 Codeunit(New) are granted.

Keeping uptime solutions

Dear all,

Currently our company has Dynamics NAV working fine. However, my concern is this, since NAV does not have offline mode, may I ask what is the best way to keep the system uptime 100% (especially for Retail)

- Intergrate 3rd party like MobileNAV / Anveo... for offline use in case the internet goes down

or

- Duplicate another server and synchronize?

The system we are currently using is quite heavily customized, therefore I'm looking for a solution that is both cost-efficient and user-friendly.

Thank you.

Issue in instantiate a class when using the job queue

I have created a DLL and in that I have a class this class take a few values in and do some processing.

I created a codeunit in NAV and define DLL as a DOTNET variable and then instantiate the classes. After that I called the methods inside those classes. When I run the codeunit it works perfectly fine.

But my problem is when I try to run the codeunit with a Job Queue.

It throw a error saying

"Error message: Microsoft Dynamics NAV Server attempted to issue a client callback to create a DotNet object: bulkSMSGatewayHTTP_dll.clsAlertListNAV (CodeUnit 50000 SMS Alert Management). Client callbacks are not supported on Microsoft Dynamics NAV Server"

This error throws at the line of where i Instantiate the class files.

How to overcome this issue?

This is regarding NAV 2015

Problems when changing collation to case insensitive

NAV2013R2

When I change collation from Finnish-Swedish Case Sensitive to Finnish-Swedish Case Insensitive nothing happens in the database. In NAV client the change is reported as successful, but in SQL-server nothing has happened, it is still case sensitive.

When I start NAV servern again and connect with RTC, NAV server starts working with what seems to be changing the collation. But when finnished collation is still the same.

Are there any problems with collation change in NAV2013R2?

What is the procedure on how to change collation and what is actually happening in the dev client and on the NAV server?

Navision 2009 Fonts Display Issue

Dear Sirs,

In Hong Kong, Windows version XP or easlier, in order to type special Tradition Chinese Hong Kong words, we need to install extra fonts package.

In Windows Vistaor Later, it's improved because the OS already embedded those Hong Kong words.

Now, our users are using Windows 7 and Dynamics NAV 2009, i tested that i can types those Hong Kong words in Word, Excel, Internet Explorer etc..., but unfortunately, it's doesn't support in NAV 2009.

When I type those words in NAV 2009, it shows "?" instead the real word.

I hope if someone have solution or similar experience can share with me.

Best Regards,

Alan Cheung
