We are hosting one database with many companies. These companies are in different places around the world, where users connect in with windows client. I am wondering if there can be a local service tier that would improve performance?  Or does it more so rely on the location of the database when talking about performance?

Hello guys, good day I am trying to import CSV file into my NAV 2009 r2 but gets the following error:

"The XML Parser return the following fatal error: Incorrect document syntax.
Line Number = 1 Column Number = 1"

We don't have RTC we need to run this process through the development environment only.

Please suggest regards

How to save a .txt , .csv , .xlsx , .fml or any other kind of file inside a field of a table in NAV 2009?

i just want to store .csv or .txt file inside a table field so that user can later get it for its tracking purpose? Any idea how to insert txt or csv file in a field. I created a BLOB field but it just takes Bitmap images not the file.

Is it possible to assign both Lot number and Serial numbers to the products (Purchase order) simultaneously in Dynamics NAV 2016? And how it can be used to invoice and ship from our warehouse using barcode scanner?

Hi Everyone,

I have a requirement wherein I need to pass "real-time" data from NAV to CRM via an intermediate custom WCF service which will be used as an adapter between the two systems. For example, when I create a new item in NAV, the record should synchronously be passed to CRM as a product. The same follows for update and delete operations as well.

Since, I can't directly expose the entity as a web service in NAV, what other method should I use to export data to my WCF? Also, should my data be SOAP or REST based?

Hi guys, I’m probably asking a silly question right now...

Can I use Dynamics NAV 2016 without internet? It will be fine if all data stored on the device, no synchronization needed. I only need to work within the application without connection to the server via the Internet (WLAN or wireless connection). If yes, do I just purchase a license and download the installer?

Hello,

Since a while when I create word template in a worflow using setwordtemplate action a WordTemplateExportRecordId: b82fc31e-76a1... is automaticly added at the end of the word file. It wasn't the case before and not the case when I open manualy the template.

An idea to avoid this ?

Hi all

I have a NAV 2018 extension with different pages. Those pages stopped appearing in search after I modified app.json. 

In app.json I changed the name, description and version. 

The UsageCategory property is set to "Documents" for all those pages.

Hi All,

I have a NAV server hosted on Azure. I've auto schedule the NAV server to turn off in the non-working hours.

When NAV server is turned on from Azure, the NAV server instance remains stopped. I've set the NAV Services as Start up type as Automatic but NAV server instance doesn't start on its own. It requires manual start.

How can I auto start the server instance. Any suggestion?

Hi all,

I am trying to consume web services  . but while i was trying to build solution in c# visual studio  it was throwing an error by saying web services does not exist in namespace what i have done:

basically created one codeunit (in codeunit created one function to get customer no. )and published web services  it by calling  "ConsumeWS"

then open visual studio  and follow below mentioned process:

1. Ceate a new Console Application project in Visual Studio.

2. In Solution Explorer, right-click on the Reference node and choose Add Service Reference.

3. In the Add Service Reference window, choose the Advance button.

4. In the Service Reference Settings window, choose Add Web Reference. Then enter localhost/.../Services and click on the green button with an arrow.

5. 1. When the ConsumeWS service is displayed, choose View Service. Then enter WebService in Web reference name: and choose Add Reference.

   2. Add the following code to the programcode::

         using System.Linq;
         using System.Text;
         namespace ConsumeWebService
         {
           using WebService;

Hi,

We have a customer that has purchased NAV18, as well as, one of our extensions. Since the extension was still in development at the time, we added their system to our dev license while we were working on the extension.
Now that the extension is ready for purchase through the Business Center we wanted to be sure that once they purchase the extension through Business center they will still be able to access the web client.

Will they be able to access the web client, or would they need to purchase a separate license? If they do need to buy a separate license, what license would they need to purchase?

Hello there,

i want to change in all my Items (Table "27 Item" the Field "Label printing at receipt" from "Yes" to "No". (If there is Yes, because some of the Items are already on "No".

We are using Microsoft Navision 2009 R2 and I don´t know how to create a Report for this..

Could someone please Help me?

Hi, 

How to reserve the items that is require in manufacturing i.e. components in a Production Order when the component items are not there in inventory but there are some purchase orders for them.

I tried to reserve it from Purchase order but on Reserve action button i am only getting the options to reserve for the Sales Orders.

We currenty use Nav, pulling the data in a csv format to Office 365 Excel 2016.

When pulling this data, we can only do this once per customer, if we try to do multiple customers open at the same time, Excel crashes. I would say this is user error, however this is happening to the two people in our office that use it.
