recently, one of our customers wsnts to insert more characters on Itemreference number field on item reference table. Well, i know changing field lenght is not recommended, and therefore, is it possible with a workaorund solution?. Like a extra field o something.

How would you design this with Dynamics NAV 2017?
Three different companies, same owner, same industry.
They share a production plant. Each company owns different machines.
They need to use MRP so Dynamics NAV manufacturing is a must.
They get sales orders from their customers indistinctly because any of them can sell final goods (books, by the way).
In a production order, it usually participates machines, personnel and raw materials not only for the company that got the sales order, but from the others.
At the end of the month they have lots of administrative complexity in figuring out what one company did for others of the group and make an invoice for that.
I see two possible solutions for design, please choose and comment:
a) set up three companies, create a "Virtual Production" fourth one for the plant that would run the production orders and develope some coustomization to syncronize sales/purchase orders and stock between Virtual Production Company and the 3 real. Use INTERCOMPANY to simplify invoincing among them.
b) set up only one company and use a new DIMENSION named Company to tag every single operation in other to track operations between them. Create a customization to generate invoices between them for the used resources.

We have a problem in Microsoft Dynamics NAV 2016. This problem is also in NAV 2017 CU7.
I didn’t find a solution in the other role ups.
In Case of Integration of Value Entries in G/L Entries the Document Date of the G/L Entries is not the Document Date of the Value Entries.
You can see an example. Is it possible to get a hotfix for the case?

We run an ecomm website on magento platform and have recently shifted the server for the same domain. We use NAV 2013 R2 to consume all new orders from Magento using SOAP API and then process them on NAV and generate csv files that Magento then consumes and updates status of orders. The rest of the NAV processes should work fine, its just that first step of connection is not happening to get data
Due to the recent shift in server, the URL for our SOAP API has slightly changed and so has the IP Address. We have changed the URL in the code unit associated with getting the new orders however the we are still getting an error as below with a reference to old IP address like
Error - a call to system.net.httpwebrequest.getrequeststream failed with this message: a connection attempt failed because the connected party did not properly respond after a period of time, or established connection failed because connected host has failed to respond: (old IP):80
How do we resolve this issue? I believe we would have to edit the new IP address in some file or change the URL in some other file maybe?

I need your help to solve the following issue:
Every time we try to export a second excel file from NAV we get the following error:
"MS Dynamics NAV Excel Add-in encountered an external error: Token replay has been detected. Please contact your system administrator."
So the first export successfully exports to excel, however the second export results in an error. This means, we have to close the other document first, before we can export more files, exporting more files at a time is convenient to work.
Specs on versions of software:
Excel: Microsoft Office 365 ProPlus, version: 1701
MS NAV: MS Dynamics NAV 2016, version: NL Dynamics NAV 9.0

In 2016 in the Vendor Card there was a Tab called Communication where the IC Partner field was located. In 2017 this tab is gone and I don't see the IC Partner field moved to somewhere else.

I am trying to figure out the exact formula that Dynamics NAV uses in the Customer Sales Statistics report.
I've built a query for analyzing Sales Invoice dollars and quantity by customer, item, date, etc., however when I look at my total numbers by customer it does not match what NAV has. I am wondering if there are other adjustments that NAV is considering (discounts, sales adjustments, allowances, etc.) that I need to build into my query in order to get them to match.
If anyone knows the exact formula that NAV uses in the Customer Sales Statistics report, I would greatly appreciate the help!

We have two databases on the same server. A live environment and a test environment. Currently I swap between the two by using the "Select Server" option within NAV.
How can I customize 2 icons for NAV so that each one will default to the separate environments.

I am importing from Excel in a RapidStart profile, the source Excel sheet contains 9 columns and 75K rows, but the import simply stops after importing 9554 records. No errors, just stops.
Max upload size on the NAV server, if it matters, set to 30Mb. The file is only 3Mb.

also can you simply download the latest version of nav from mibuso, set it up on prem, install a full license instead on the cronus one on the dev environment, setup a new company in the client and away you go, no date restrictions etc? also are there any size restrictions on the sql 2016 server that's installed as part of the demo?

I am able to installed and uninstalled successfully . While i am uninstalling our package extension ,table data backup also done in database as a a$AppData$f86b44d8 , $AppData$f86b44d8 ....... . Again i have installed our another extension version but backup data are not restored in our extension table. As per my understanding it should be restored data. Please give me an idea why it's not stored in our extension table.

Is it possible to view a history or pull up a list of all registered warehouse item journal entries? I would like to be able to see how many inventory adjustments/ item journal have been registered by all users for all inventory items over a given period of time, a month in this case. We would like to have only a very limited number of people be able to perform journal adjustments for the whole company, but first we would need to get a handle on what the average number of adjustments made would be in order to determine how many people would be needed for this role.
